What to expect?
Stanford Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning is a “high touch service”. All of our communications are handled in person or over the phone to provide the best client experience possible. The owners of Stanford Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning have witnessed Silicon Valley evolve over many decades. During this time, many businesses have changed to a more impersonal approach of service, where clients are directed to emails and remote call centers, but Stanford Carpet Cleaning, has stuck to its mission and continued to provide the highest level of service possible, through means of clear and direct communication. It may be “old school” but it works. Our loyal clients share that they prefer our “high touch” approach to service.
HOW DO I DETERMINE THE COST?
Upon your initial call, a determination will be made as to the scope of work and a verbal estimate will be provided as the the cost. Subsequently, the scope of work and cost estimate will be confirmed in person on the scheduled day of cleaning by the owner of Stanford Carpet.
WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER AND WHAT DO THEY ENTAIL?
WALL-TO-WALL CARPET CLEANING

Steam cleaning for wall-to-wall carpeting is conducted in the residence or business location of the client.

The owner of Stanford Carpet will arrive punctually to greet you and confirm the scope of work and cost estimate by visual inspection.

A written bid for the cleaning is provided prior to any cleaning commences, so you have a clear understanding of the cleaning to be done and the cost associated with the cleaning.

Once the written bid is provided, a technician will begin the process of preparing the space for cleaning. This may include: vacuuming, moving light furniture, placing blocks under furniture to prevent rust from developing, etc.

Next, the technician will pre spot the designated area with a biodegradable solution, which will be extracted during the cleaning process.

The purpose of the pre-spotting is to apply the biodegradable solution to the carpet to help expedite the cleaning process. The solution works its way into the fibers of the carpet to free up the dirt, oil, grime and other build up that can discolor the carpet.

After the technician completes pre-spotting the carpet he will use high pressured hot water to rinse & to extract dirt, grime and solution revitalizing the carpet. The extracted water flows to a recovery tank in the cleaning machine.

Please note, the carpet remains damp for several hours and it is optimal to not walk on the carpet during this time for your safety.

Industrial fans are available upon request for an additional cost to expedite the drying process.
AREA RUG CLEANING

Stanford Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning excels in the cleaning of area rugs which may include oriental rugs (e.g. Persian rugs), tapestries or regular carpets.

Upon initial contact, a verbal estimate is provided based on the type of rug and size of the rug. The cost estimate is typically determined by the square footage of the rug.

A “pick up” time is scheduled for the retrieval of the area rug.

The owner of Stanford Carpet will arrive punctually to greet you and confirm the verbal estimate after inspecting the condition of the area rug and measuring the size.

A written bid for the area rug cleaning is provided prior to the area rug being removed from the premises, so you have a clear understanding of the cleaning to be done and the cost associated with the cleaning.

After the bid is provided, the rug will be wrapped and placed taken off-site to be cleaned.

The cleaning process includes both dusting and vacuuming which removes loose soil, dirt, dust and hair. Both the rug and fringe are hand washed, rinsed and extracted with fresh water. They are line dried. Rug repair, fringe replacement and pads are available at customer request.

After the carpet is cleaned off-site, it is typically returned within 5-7 business days unless specified otherwise.

Note, there is no additional charge for the pick up and delivery of area rugs.
UPHOLSTERY CLEANING

Upholstery cleaning of chairs, couches, ottomans, etc. are performed in the client’s home or business.

The owner of Stanford Carpet will arrive punctually to greet you and confirm the scope of work and cost estimate by visual inspection.

A written bid for the cleaning is provided prior to any upholstery cleaning commences, so you have a clear understanding of the cleaning to be done and the cost associated with the cleaning.

Next, the technician will “make space” to clean the upholstered furniture, which may require moving the couch, ottoman, etc. outdoors onto a tarp to allow for easy access to clean and expedited drying time.

After the upholstered furniture is set for cleaning, the technician will pre spot the upholstery with a biodegradable solution, which will be extracted during the cleaning process.

The purpose of the pre-spotting is to apply the biodegradable solution to the upholstery to help expedite the cleaning process. The solution works its way into the fibers of the upholstery to free up the dirt, oil, pet stain and other build up that can discolor the upholstery.

After the technician completes pre spotting the upholstery he will use high pressured hot water to rinse & to extract dirt, grime and solution restoring the couches, chairs & ottomans. the extracted water flows to a recovery tank in the cleaning machine.

Please note, the upholstery remains damp for several hours and it is optimal to not sit on the respective chair, couch, etc. until the furniture is dry.
TILE AND STONE
CLEANING

Steam cleaning for tile and stone surfaces in kitchen and bathrooms are conducted in the residence or business location of the client.

The owner of Stanford Carpet will arrive punctually to greet you and confirm the scope of work and cost estimate by visual inspection.

A written bid for the cleaning is provided prior to any cleaning commences, so you have a clear understanding of the cleaning to be done and the cost associated with the cleaning.

Once the written bid is provided, a technician will begin the process of preparing the space for cleaning. This may include scrubbing grout, moving light furniture, placing blocks under furniture to prevent rust from developing, etc.

Next the technician will spray the designated area with a biodegradable solution which will loosen surface soil. He will hand brush the grout to loosen the dirt. The next step in the process is the use of a rotary wand accompanied by a high pressured hot water/extraction method that removes dirt, grease, oil, grime and built up residue. The hot water/extraction process will remove the water and residue to the recovery tank. After the tiles are dried with towels and fans both the tiles and grout appear clean and bright.
